Sabalenka just won her career first grand slam title at the Australian Open, defeating Elena Rybakina in the finals. Just before that, she added Adelaide 1 win as her career 11th title.
Jessica Pegula will join the WTA Indian Wells Open 2023 as the 3rd seed. The American just reached her career-highest WTA singles ranking of 3rd in the last week of February. She started the year by helping the USA win the United Cup 2023, defeating Martina Trevisan in the finals. Pegula also recently reached her career’s first WTA 500 final at WTA Qatar Open.
