As a continuation of the successful event of last year, the Parma Ladies Open 2022 will again take place this year at the President Tennis Club of Montechiarugolo in Parma. Although the event took place in May last year, it has been shifted to September 2022, from 26 September to 1 October.
Another change brought is that the prize money has been raised up to 7.02% from last year and is set to be $251,750. The tournament will consist of 32 single draws and 16 double draws. The winner will get €26,770, which is 13.7% more than last year and the runner-up will be awarded €15,922, which is a 20.4% increment.
Defending champion: Coco Guff
The Parma 2021 Singles title was won by Coco Gauff. The 17-year-old American player won two titles on the same day at Parma. Firstly, she won the winning title of the Singles at Parma against Wang Qiang. With straight sets of 6–1, 6–3, this new face has surprised the world with her fiery performance. But she did not stop at this only.
After the trophy ceremony and taking a short break, she joined her doubles mate, Caty McNally, and together they won the winning title of the doubles as well. Their slower start ended up giving them a win against Darija Jurak and Andreja Klepac, with the score of 6-3, 6-2.
