Current world number 1, Medvedev had a fiery start in the tournament. He has played three matches in the tournament and is yet to drop a single set. On his way to reaching the semi-finals, he beat Botic van de Zandschulp(6-4, 7-5), Denis Shapovalov(7-5, 7-5), and Taylor Fritz(7-6, 6-3). Besides a shaky start against Taylor Fritz in the quarter-finals, the 26-year-old Russian barely had any trouble so far in the tournament.
