French Open, also known as Roland-Garros is the premier level of international tennis tournament held annually in France. The two-week-long event is held under the Grand Slam, which is the most major level of competition in tennis.
The upcoming French Open 2023 will be the 127th iteration of the tournament. Established in 1891, it is the second Grand Slam event of the 2023 tennis calendar. It will host individual and team-based competitions for both men’s and women’s discipline.
The current leading professional of ATP Singles, Carlos Alcaraz is the 1st seed at the upcoming French Event. The US Open 2022 winner just recorded his 100th career win at this year’s Indian Wells Masters.
Russian professional, Daniil Medvedev is the 2nd seed in men’s singles. While Novak Djokovic is sitting in 3rd seed position. Unfortunately, the defending champion Rafael Nadal had to withdraw from the event due to a hip injury.
Iga Swiatek, the young Polish professional is leading the women’s singles seed this year. The women’s singles ranking leader is also the defending champion of the event. Furthermore, she already earned two titles this year from Qatar Open and Stuttgart Open.
Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula are respectively the 2nd and 3rd seeds at women’s singles in the upcoming Grand Slam. Fans are excitedly awaiting their favorite top-class tennis professionals to clash against each other on the French clay courts this week.
