Defending champion Cameron Norrie secured the Los Cabos Open final with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 semi-final victory against second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime on Friday night. The Briton is set to face Daniil Medvedev in the final clash.
It was tough for Norrie, especially after losing the second set. Also, he never defeated Felix. Norrie made a strong comeback to secure his third ATP Tour title chase in 2022. This win set his record to 11-2 in Los Cabos.
On the other hand, Russia’s Daniil Medvedev is currently the world No. 1 on ATP Tour with 13 ATP Tour singles titles in his kit, including the 2021 US Open and 2020 ATP Finals.
Both players will appear in their fourth finals this year. While Norrie had reached the finishing line twice, Medvedev will eye his maiden title in 2022. However, Medvedev leads Norrie in the head-to-head by 1-0.
The 2022 Los Cabos Open is the 6th edition of the tournament being a part of the ATP 250 event taking place in Los Cabos, Mexico. The total prize pool of the event is set at $822,110 this year. The final clash will be broadcasted live on Tennis Channel on August 6.
