2023 WTA Adelaide International 2 has been announced to initiate the WTA Tour 500 side competition this Monday in Australia.

Adelaide International 2 is an Australian professional tennis event. The hard-court tournament is played annually every February in Adelaide. It features individual competition on both ATP Tour 250 and WTA 500. For both ATP and WTA, singles and doubles tournaments are held in the event.
2023 Adelaide International 2 is the upcoming 2nd WTA Tour 500 event of this season. A total of 28 professionals are set to participate this year. For the WTA side, the event organizers have announced $780,637 prize money. In addition, there will be a handful of WTA ranking points for competitors to gather from every match.
4 of the 8 initial seeds have decided to withdraw from the event. They are – Iga Swiatek, Ons Jabeur, Jessica Pegula, and Madison Keys. However, additional 4 players were selected to be part of the extended 12 seed for WTA Adeilade International 2.
French professional, Caroline Garcia is the lead seed of this year. The 29-year-old pro is currently ranked 4th in WTA international singles. She won the Tour Finals last year and was a semifinalist in the US Open.
Daria Kasatkina is the 2nd seed of the event. The Russian professional has been ranked 8th in WTA singles since October of last year. She was a semifinalist at the French Open 2022. The Russian no 1, was recently upset by Linda Noskova in Adelaide International 1.
WTA Adelaide International 2’s 3rd seed is Veronika Kudermetova. The Russian reached career highest WTA no 9 of singles last October. She was a quarterfinalist at the French Open singles, a semifinalist of the Australian Open doubles, and a winning team member of the Tour finals last year.
