The Australian ATP 250 tennis event in Adelaide is set to initiate with its WTA 250 counterpart on upcoming Monday

Adelaide International 2 is an outdoor hard court tennis tournament held annually in Australia. It is a joint event of the ATP Tour and WTA Tour. As such, the event features both singles and doubles competitions under ATP 250 and WTA 250 category separately. The upcoming 2023 Adelaide International 2 is the 3rd ATP Tour iteration of the event.
The Russian professional tennis player Andrey Rublev is leading this year’s seed list at Adelaide. Currently, he is ranked 6th in ATP singles standings. Rublev was a quarterfinalist at both the French and US Open last year. He was also a member of the Tour Finals semifinalist Russian team. Overall, Rublev secured four titles last year with the most recent being Gijon Open 2022.
Pablo Carreno Busta is the 2nd seed of this year’s Australian event. The 31 years old Spanish is ranked 15th in singles worldwide. Last year, Carreno Busta won the Canadian Open to win his maiden masters title and become the first unseeded player to do so within past 20 years.
Another Russian professional, Karen Khachanov is the 3rd seed in the upcoming tournament. He is ranked 20th in ATP singles worldwide since November of last year. Khachanov was a semifinalist at the US Open 2022. In the recent Antwerp, he lost to the finalist Sebastian Korda only in second round.
