After getting delayed for a year, the Women’s Rugby League World Cup 2022 is ready to be held once again in 2022. The 6th edition of the event is slated to begin on November 1, 2022.

The Women’s Rugby League World Cup is an international women’s rugby league event. Sanctioned under the Rugby League International Federation, the event first initiated in 2000. The event is associated with the Rugby League World Cup.
There are eight international teams that regularly compete in the Women’s Rugby League World Cup. The teams are divided into four-team groups, and the tournament is played in a qualifier style. It will be the same format for the 2022 edition of the event.
Currently, Australia is the defending champion of the event. They won the Women’s Rugby League World Cup title in 2017, which was their second consecutive win after securing the title in 2013 first. Before that, New Zealand won the championship three times.
The latest iteration of the international tournament was originally slated for 2021. But due to the recent Covid-19 pandemic it along with the men’s wheelchair tournament was rescheduled to 2022. England will be the hosting country of the upcoming women’s rugby tournament.
