Preview
The Rugby Europe Championship is a relatively new European Rugby competition that was recently established in 2016. Upcoming 2023 edition of the event will be its 7th official iteration according to the newly established format.
8 rugby teams from eight European countries will participate in the upcoming tournament. They have been divided into two pools to participate in the group stage. The top two teams of each pool will then qualify for the playoffs. Playoff stage will contain semifinals and final stage matches.
The bottom two teams of each pool will also compete for the 5th to 7th placement following completion of group stage. Due to increment in participant count, this new format will be established from this year’s Rugby Europe Championship 2023.
