The highly awaited 2023 Daytona 500 race event is finally here to kick off the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series in Florida this Sunday.

Daytona 500 is a NASCAR stock car racing event. Sanctioned by NASCAR, the event is currently a part of their annual Cup Series. The event is very popular for featuring a large number of purses every season.
The upcoming Florida-based stock car race will mark the 65th edition of the long-running event. It will also act as the launching point of the 75th annual NASCAR Cup Series.
The 2023 Daytona 500 will be held at the Daytona International Speedway. It will be a 200-lap event, stretching 800 km in total. Organizers have announced a $27 million purse for this year’s event.
Like most standard NASCAR races, 40 participants have qualified to participate in the upcoming Daytona event. Alex Bowman of Hendrick Motorsports holds the pole position for the main race.
