Denver Broncos outside linebacker Bradley Chubb recently stated that he thinks Broncos’ have the best defense in the NFL league.
Chubb’s remarks are stemming from the result of the last game of Broncos. The Denver team put on an absolute masterclass on Sunday Night Football as they beat the San Francisco 49ers 11-10 at the Empower Field.
“I don’t mean to sound too brash, but I think we’re the best defense in the league,” Chubb said following the win over the 49ers. “We’ve put it on film and on tape. We just have to keep on doing it.”
This bold statement from Chubb does not seem far-fetched if we analyze the numbers. If we observe the performance of the Broncos in the first 3 weeks of this season, few teams have a better defensive performance as per the statistics. Denver’s defense is second in terms of points allowed per game (12) and third in terms of yards allowed per game (251.3). In addition to that, the Broncos are tied for first place in both forced fumbles (six) and fumbles recovered (three).
To have a successful season, all Denver seem to need is an offense that can perform at the same level as their defense. Chubb seemed to agree with this. “We’re just going to stay together as a team,” he said. “On the offensive side of the ball, I know they’re going to get it right and everything will fall into place and the flood gates are going to open.”
The next match for the Denver Broncos is an away game against the LA Raiders next Sunday, the 2nd of October.
