The NFL is going international for the first time this season as the Green Bay Packers are set to face the New York Giants at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
Packers’ legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers has expressed his disappointment over not getting to spend enough time in London before the Giants game this Sunday. In an interview with ESPN, Rodgers said that he wished he could spend some time taking sights and getting to know the UK culture.
“We’re all excited. I think the reason I said I wanted to go over early was just to experience a little bit of that culture, to be able to get out and see some sights and interact with fans and shoot, go to a pub and have a Guinness or whatever the local brew is. That’s what we all want to do, those of us that want to go over early,” said Rodgers.
Matt LaFleur, the head coach of the Packers, did seem happy with the situation. An international trip for such an important game had him stressed. “I’m not going to give you my honest answer,” LaFleur stated. “I’d rather refrain. It feels like a Thursday night game for us as coaches just in terms of all the preparation you’ve got to do. But you just do it, so it is what it is.”
The Packers vs Giants is predicted to be an exciting battle of two in form teams. Both teams are currently 3-1 in the league. The fans cannot wait for the matchup.
