The Indian shuttler PV Sindhu beat China’s shuttler Wang Zhi Yi by 21-9,11-21,21-15 to clinch her maiden title in the Women’s Singles final in Singapore and 3rd title in 2022. PV Sindhu who is a two-time Olympic medalist won the 1st game in a dominating match before losing the 2nd game.
The match was thrilling when it went into the decider where she bounced back beautifully to clinch her maiden 500 titles of the year 2022. But Wang Zhi played well till the end but Sindhu took the early’s advantage in the game. It was like fully the latter’s victory over Sindhu.
Before Sindhu had beat Saena Kawakami by 21-15, 21–7 in a thirty-two-minute semi-final game to enter into the summit clash. But in Singapore, it took Sindhu just 12 minutes to finish the opening game which included winning 13 consecutive points. Wang Zhi fought back in superb fashion to draw level as she gained the 2nd game.
Singapore Open 2022 also happens to be her 3rd title of the 2022 season after winning the Syed Modi and Swiss Open BWF.
On the other hand in the Men’s Singles final results in Singapore Open 2022, Anthony Sinisuka Gintin beat Kodai Naraoka by 23-21, 21-17. In the Women’s Doubles final Apriyani Rahayu / Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti beat Zhang Shuxian / Zheng Yu by 21-14,21-17.
In the Men’s doubles final, Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto beat Leo Rolly Carnando / Daniel Marthin by 21-9,14-21,16-21. In the Mixed Doubles final result, Dechapol Puavaranukroh / Sapsiree Taerattanachai beat Wang Yilyu / Huang Donping by 21-12,21-17.
