The NFL has announced their decision to fine the Buccaneers’ quarterback Tom Brady for attempting to kick Falcons’ defensive tackle Grady Jarret in the Buccaneers vs Falcons clash of Week 5.
After the incident, it seemed inevitable that Brady would get punished for his actions. Although the kick did not connect, the intent was clearly there. The situation arose when Jarret sacked the 45-year-old quarterback in the fourth quarter of their game. Following the sack, Jarret went on to celebrate, stepping over Brady in the process. Clearly irritated from it, Brady tried to kick Jarret.

Both players defended themselves after the incident was put to light before them. Brady affirmed that it was a foul play, while Jarret said, “when you do it the right way, that’s what makes it so frustrating because you did follow the rules.” The play was crucial for the Falcons. However, not enough to win as they lost the game 21-15.
The incident drew a lot of attention and the fining of Tom Brady seemed inevitable. The announcement came 5 days later after an extensive investigation by the NFL which confirmed that the 7x super bowl champion was in the wrong.
The Bucs are set to play the Steelers in week 6.
