Greg Norman, the CEO of LIV GOlF, is set to visit Capitol Hill in Washington DC to meet with the members of Congress and discuss matters regarding LIV.
LIV Golf is a newly introduced professional golf tour that has been facing huge criticisms due to its alleged tie with the Saudi-Arabia. It is widely believed that the tour is created as a ruse to ‘sport-wash’ the human rights violation that is being perpetrated by the kingdom.
However, the criticisms did not stop a bulk of players from the PGA tour from defecting to the LIV Golf even following threats of sanctions from the PGA. Now as the players face backlash, along with the tour from the general people, Greg Norman decided to have a meeting with the members of the congress to clear any misunderstanding that might have arisen due to PGA’s continuous attempts to ruin the reputation of LIV.
“LIV Golf is coming to the Hill this week to meet with lawmakers from both parties,” stated a spokesperson of LIV Golf. “Given the PGA Tour’s attempts to stifle our progress in reimagining the game, we think it’s imperative to educate members on LIV’s business model and counter the Tour’s anti-competitive efforts.”
LIV Golf has just successfully organized its fifth event of the 2022 LIV Golf Invitational Series with participation from players like Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, etc. Its next event is scheduled to take place next month on October 9 in Bangkok.
