It took only a year for Jonard Cedrix Caranto, known as “Demonkite” to get into the big leagues and to be highlighted as one of the best new talents in MPL Season 8. The teen won the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup earlier in June and earned prize money worth $140,000. The Filipino currently plays the Jungler role for his team RSG Philippines.
The 19-year-old spoke to ONE Esports about his massive and impressive debut. His journey from a newbie in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) game to a super rookie is quite interesting. He said that nobody believed in his worth- at least not about being a champion. All considered him weak. But JNA Esports, an amateur team, recognized his talent and picked him up.
After a few rounds of gradual improvements, coach Panda (Brian Lim) discovered him for the RSG PH and gave him the golden opportunity to play against pro players. Demonkite mentioned Wise’s name here as he followed him as an idol during his ONIC days. Playing against his own idol was the only time in the MPL season 8 when he got nervous.
It’s been a long dream for Demonkite to be a champion. He further shared his realization with a valuable message, “Sometimes the process has to be delayed in life. You need to be patient.”
