After two years of absence, the World Team Chess Championship 2022 is finally making a grand return. The latest iteration of the highly acclaimed FIDE World Team Chess Championship is getting started this November 19th.

World Team Chess Championship is an international-level chess event. The event made its debut in 1985 under the authorization of the FIDE. However, the biannual chess event was postponed in 2021 due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Generally, the 10 best teams from each continent compete in the event every year. However, there will be a slight change in the upcoming event. Russia was disqualified from the event due to the recent Ukrainian invasion.
The 2022 edition of the event will be held in Israel. A total of 14 international teams will be participating in the 2022 edition of the event. They will first take part in a group stage. Upon completion of the group stage, top four teams of each group will take part in the following knockout stage. The event games will maintain usual 45-minute game format.
