With the exciting winter world event Winter World University Games 2023, Essex county’s Lake Placid is taking the form of a paradise for winter sports.

The 2023 Winter World University Games or commonly known as Lake Placid 2023 is a college level winter themed multi-sport event. With the administration of International University Sports Federation (FISU), the event is taking place in New York this Thursday.
After last year’s cancellation due to covid-19 pandemic, the latest Winter World University Games since 2019 is finally ready to begin this month. This year will mark the 30th addition to the event that was formerly known as “Winter Universiade”.
The 12-days long event will feature 86 games of 12 different sports discipline. Over 1400 athletes are participating in the event from 50 different nations. The 12 featured sports discipline of this year are –

Winter World University Games 2023 Opening Ceremony:

The opening ceremony of this year’s winter world university games will be held on the second day of the event. Organizers have announced the scheduled date on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 07:00 p.m. ET. Just as the entire event, the opening ceremony will be held at the Olympic Center in New York.
