IFH’s latest international men’s handball tournament has been announced to be hosted by Poland and Sweden from January 11th.

Handball World Championship or officially titled “IHF World Men’s Handball Championship” is the international handball competition. It is biennially hosted by the International Handball Federation.
The Handball World Championship 2023 is officially marking 28th addition to the event history. This year, both Poland and Sweden are co-hosting the event in 9 different venues of 9 individual cities.
From 5 confederations 32 international teams will participate in this year’s international handball competition. These teams are divided into eight different groups (each containing 4) to participate in the first round of group stage.
First 3 teams of each group will qualify for the second round of group stage. From there, eight teams will be selected to participate in the playoffs, which will run from January 25 to 29.

Handball World Championship 2023 Group Distribution:
A total of 32 international teams will participate in the first round of Handball World Championship this year. Among these, the top-3 teams will qualify for the main round, while the final team of each group will be demoted to the Presidents Cup 2023.
