UFC 289 is the next major event from the Ultimate Fighting Championship promotion. It will take place this Saturday night at the Rogers Arena in Canada. The event will feature a total of 11 bouts, 5 under the main card and the rest under the preliminary cards.
Fans will see Amanda Nunes and Irene Aldana enter the cage to fight for the UFC Bantamweight championship title under the main event card. Meanwhile, Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush will face off for a lightweight fight in the co-main card.
Brazilian MMA professional, Amanda Nunes is better known as “The Lioness.” She currently has a professional record of 22 wins to 5 losses and a 59% KO-to-win ratio. Nunes regained her UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship title from Julianna Pena in July 2022.
Irene Aldana is a professional mixed martial artist from Mexico. The bantamweight professional currently holds a professional career record of 14 wins to 6 losses with a 56% KO-to-win ratio. Aldana last fought against Macy Chiasson in September 2022 and defeated her via a 3rd round KO.
