The third iteration of the popular Australian young female golfers’ showcase event is ready to get underway this Saturday in Cheltenham. The article will provide you with the latest information on the upcoming WPGA The Athena 2023.

The Athena is an annual professional golf event under the WPGA Tour of Australasia. The tournament was inaugurated in 2021 and quickly gained popularity for featuring the best young and promising female golfers from the tour. This year will mark the 3rd anniversary of the Melbourne-based event.
After two successful editions, organizers have confirmed the event to run for three more years. This year, Golf Australia, PGA of Australia, and Evolve Sports Group will help organize the event alongside the WPGA Tour of Australasia. The competition is scheduled to begin on Saturday with a 12-player field.
On the first day, 8 out of 12 players will be selected via the Combine play format. 9 different challenges will be held on the field. The 8 qualified players will advance to the playoff on the following day and play through the quarterfinal and semifinal to the final. Playoff games will be the 4-hole match-play format. While putt-off will be utilized to break ties.
