WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play 2023 Purse:
The popular Texas-based professional golf event, WGC Match Play started its journey back in 1999. It is currently a competition that is under the co-authorization of the PGA Tour, the European Tour, and the Japan Golf Tour. Unfortunately, organizers have announced that the ongoing version of the event will be its final iteration.
WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play 2023 has announced a $20 million purse. The final event is going all out with the prize pool, jumping from the previous year’s $12 million to straight $20 million. As a result, participants will see a drastic increment in the individual share of the purse this time.
Winners’ share for the ongoing event is set at $3.5 million. This is a massive raise over the $2.1 million share, that defending champion Scottie Scheffler received in 2022. While the runner-up will receive $2.2 million from the event. Which is again $100,000 over the last year’s winner’s purse.
The quarterfinalist of the ongoing WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play is set to earn $770,000 each. While the knockout stage participants will receive $365,000 each. Players will fail to advance to the knockout stage, will receive payments ranging from $65,000 to $275,000 based on their standings.
