The 92nd edition of Valero Texas Open is ready to launch this Wednesday at the TPC San Antonio. And this will be the final chance for several participates to qualify for the oncoming Masters, which is only one week away.
The eagerly anticipated Texas Open, which is currently known as Valero Texas Open is starting its first-round competition with a 144-player field in Texas. Fan favorites like Si Woo Kim, Nicolai Hojgaard and many more will be competing in the event featuring a $8.9 million purse.
For some participants however, the PGA Tour event will be a crucial one beyond the lucrative prize pool. As this tournament will be their final chance the get qualification to participate in the Masters Tournament 2023, which is just around the corner.
The Masters Tournament is one of the four major golf championships and the most prestigious professional golf tournament in the US. Top class professionals compete annually to get an invitational for the event. Which is the same case for these participates of the upcoming Valero Texas Open too.
