Toto Japan Classic 2022 Purse: Payout and Prize Money Breakdown

Toto Japan Classic is the popular Japanese annual women’s professional golf tournament. Starting on November 3, the 2022 iteration of this event just reached its conclusion today. Gemma Dryburgh, a Scottish female professional, won her first major LPGA title at the event.

The Toto Japan Classic is an annual women’s golf event sanctioned under the LPGA Tour and LPGA of Japan Tour. It initially began as an unofficial money tournament in 1973, titled “LPGA Japan Classic”. In 2015, the event became official with its current title. This year marked the 8th iteration of the event under its current banner.

The Scottish pro-female golfer, Gemma Dryburgh recently became the winner of the 2022 Toto Japan Classic. With a score of 268 points, she defeated Japanese competitor Kana Nagai by four strokes. While the 3rd position was secured by the fresh competitor from Sweden, Linn Grant.

The Toto Japan Classic 2022, like its previous iteration, featured a $2 million prize pool. As such, the distributed prize remained substantially the same as the previous year’s placements.

The champion of the 2022 Toto Japan Classic, Gemma Dryburgh received prize money of $300k. While the runner-up, Kana Nagai received a $182,538 reward. Placing 3rd, Linn Grant received purse money of $132,418.

All 78 participants in the event got a cut from the $2 million prize pool. Anna Nordqvist and Ariya Jutanugarn tied for 75th place and collected $3,728 each. Maria Fassi, who finished at the bottom of the scoreboard, received $3,657 from the tournament.
