DP World Tour has finally returned to Thailand 6 years after the last Thailand Classic. Read the article to know more information on the ongoing Thailand Classic 2023 event.
Thailand Classic 2023 Purse:
Thailand Classic is a returning European Tour professional golf event. It first established as the True Thailand Classic in 2015 and was cancelled after two editions. As such, this year marks the 3rd official edition of the event. Additionally, the event is announced to be a part of European Tour’s Race to Dubai series.
Organizers of the returning Thai golf event has featured a $2 million purse pool. Even though the size of prize pool is average for the current season, it is unusual to see a returning event receive a standard sized purse pool in European Tour.
This year, 132 professional DP World Tour golfers are participating in the event. However, only the top-65 to make a 36-hole cut will be eligible to get a share of the purse pool. Of which, the winner will receive $340,000 as reward.
Runner-up of this year’s tournament is set to earn $220,000. While the 3rd position holder will receive $125,000 purse. Furthermore, the top eight players will receive additional Race to Dubai series points and share from €6 million Race to Dubai bonus pool.
