The PGA announced the Shriners Children’s Open 2022 Purse to be $8 million US dollars, with the winner receiving $1,440,000. The winner’s share is the standard 18% of the overall purse in accordance with the PGA Tour’s prize money distribution chart.
In the 2021 PGA Tour Season, Shriners Children’s Open’s total prize pool was set at 7,000,000, while the winner, Im Sung-Jae, bagged 1,260,000 for himself.
As evident from the numbers above, there has been a significant bump in the purse and payout. Compared to last year, the purse increased by $1 million. The winner of the tournament will also get an extra $180,000.
The 2nd and the 3rd placed finisher will be awarded a handsome sum of $872,000 and $552,000, respectively. To be eligible for a share of the prize money, a player needs to make the 36-hole cut placing inside the top 65.
Along with the lucrative prize money, there are some extra benefits on the line as well. The winner of the event will acquire 500 FedEx Cup points in addition to 40 Official World Golf Ranking points.
