The ongoing RBC Heritage 2023 has already drawn wide attention for its substantial prize pool, similar to the recently concluded major golf event. Here you can learn about detailed RBC Heritage 2023 Purse: Prize Money and Payouts
RBC Heritage 2023 Purse:
The RBC Heritage, alternatively called Heritage Classic, is the popular annual professional golf competition. The ongoing event is hosting its 55th iteration under the 2023 PGA Tour season. The Heritage Classic Foundation sponsors the four-day standard PGA event.
RBC Heritage 2023 Purse is $20 million, a massive jump from the 2022 edition’s $8 million purse pool. This has become possible due to LIV Golf’s highly competitive prize amount in each event. The prize pool size has generated excitement among both players and fans, ensuring maximum competitiveness among PGA’s top-class participants.
Only the top -65 participants to cut into the first two rounds will get a share of the prize pool. Thanks to the 250% increment in the prize pool, every qualified participant’s prize amount will rise this year. The winner of the ongoing Heritage Classic will claim $3.6 million from the prize pool. This is PGA’s standard 18% cut.
The runner-up at this year’s South Carolina-based professional golf event will earn a $2.18 million prize. While the 3rd position holder will earn $1.38 million. In contrast, the previous runner-up Patrick Cantley earned $872k, and seven T3 position holders earned $330k each. With the purse increase, this year’s third-place prize amount came close to the previous year’s winner’s earnings.
The increment isn’t only limited to the top-side positions. The 63rd, 64th, and 65th positioned participants in the leaderboard will earn $43,800, $43,400, and $43,000 each. Furthermore, the prize pool size isn’t limited to this event alone. Thanks to LIV Golf’s substantial prize pool sizes, PGA recently added seven designated events featuring a $20 million prize pool each.
