QBE Shootout is the prestigious annual American team-based golf tournament. It is an unofficial money event held under PGA Tour authorization in Naples, Florida. It is played over four rounds in a stroke play format over 72 par.
The 2022 QBE Shootout is the 34th iteration of the event, since its debut in 1989. It features a 24-player field. The competitors are divided into 12 different groups with 2 in each. Participants are selected based on the FedEx Cup’s top-12 standings.
QBE Shootout 2022 Purse:
This year’s QBE Shootout 2022 Purse is $3.6 million. Considering the previous iteration’s $3.2 million purse, a 5.89% increment is a significant upgrade.
As a team-based event, initial prize distribution will be based on team standings. However, the prize money will be divided equally among the team members. In addition, all of 12 participating teams will get a share of the purse.
The second and third teams will also see a sizable increment this year. They will receive $590,000 and $360,000 respectively, in contrast to 2021’s $560,000 and $305,000. This increases individual income notably.
Even the lower-positioned teams will also get a decent gain. The 11th and 12th teams will earn $185,000 and $180,000. While the previous year’s two T-11 teams received only $172,500 each.
