European Open is a famous professional golf tournament organized under the authorization of the European Tour’s annual DP World Tour calendar. Established in 1978, the event is currently held in Winsen, Germany.
Porsche European Open 2023 will start this Thursday. Like its previous two iterations, the famous German automobile manufacturer, Porsche AG will be the major sponsor of the event.
A total of 156 professional golfers from the DP World Tour will partake in the event. However, none of the European players from the top 50 OWGR leaderboards will be present this week.
The Porsche European Open 2022 champion, Kalle Samooja will also be present in the field to defend his title. Additionally, fan-favorite golfers such as Jorge Campillo, Pablo Larrazabal, Kiradech Aphibarnart, and many more will actively participate this week.
The four-day tournament will maintain a standard 72-par-based stroke play rule format. It will feature a $2 million prize pool, alongside a standard 17% winner’s share. This subsequently amounts to $340,000 for the winner.
