- Scottie Scheffler
- Viktor Hovland
- Tony Finau
The initial top pick of the upcoming Mayakoba Golf Classic 2022 is most definitely the current OWGR 2nd-ranked Scottie Scheffler. The American golfer recently won the 2022 Masters Tournament. He is currently one of the most established golfers, having gained a total of six professional wins in only four years after going professional. This year, he also won the WM Phoenix Open, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.
At present, the second favorite of the event is the defending champion, Viktor Hovland. The Norwegian professional golfer is currently ranked 3rd in the OWGR. Furthermore, he is the two-time consecutive defending champion of the event, winning it in both 2020 and 2021. Only within 3 years of going professional, he accumulated 6 titles, of which 3 from the PGA Tour and 2 from European Tour events. His most recent win came at the Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic.
The Popular American golfer, Tony Finau is another favorite in the upcoming event. Ranked 9th since October 30, the player had a pretty stable run this year. He won three matches and lost one at the 2022 Presidents Cup. His most recent two PGA Tour wins came this year, from 3M Open, and Rocket Mortgage Classic.
