ISPS Handa Championship in Japan, alternatively known as Championship in Japan is a professional golf tournament co-founded by European Tour and Japan Golf Tour in 2022. It is a 71-par stroke play-based four-round long golf competition held in Ibaraki.
The upcoming ISPS Handa Championship in Japan 2023 will be the 2nd edition of the popular event. It will start this Thursday in Ibaraki and will run for four days straight. Organizers have announced a lucrative $2 million purse pool with a winner’s share of $220,000 for the second edition.
A total of 144 professional DP World Tour golfers will partake in the event. The 2022 champion, Katsuragawa Yuto will be present to defend his title. Additionally, fan favorite competitor Lucas Herbert – who is currently ranked 59th in OWGR and highest in the field, is also competing this year.
