The upcoming Thailand Classic is actually a renamed relaunch of a previous European Tour event, True Thailand Classic. It first inaugurated in 2015 and was held for two consecutive years. Following that, the event was removed and cancelled from DP World Tour annual calendar.
Thailand Classic 2023 will be the 3rd official edition of the event. It will be held at the Amata Spring County Club course near Bangkok city center. The event will feature a $2 million purse pool and a 132-player field. The upcoming Thailand based event is scheduled to start this Thursday, February 16. It will be played for four rounds over four days like most European Tour stroke play format golf events. This will be the first time for a Bangkok based golf event to be listed as an official Race to Dubai series tournament.
