Honda Classic 2023 Purse:
Honda Classic is a popular professional golf event held under the authorization of the PGA on their annual PGA Tour. It has been running since the event’s establishment in 1972. This year mark’s the 51st iteration of the popular Florida-based golf tournament. The event is well favored by fans for featuring the top-class golfers of the tour.
The ongoing Honda Classic 2023 is featuring a prize pool of $8.4 million. Which is a noticeable raise from last year’s $8 million and the previous one’s $7 million purse pool. This year’s tournament featured a 144-player field. However, only the top-65 players in the standings to make a cut in the event will receive a share of the prize pool.
The winner’s share for the ongoing Honda Classic is $1.512 million. It is a slight raise compared to the $1.44 million reward of 2022 champion Sepp Straka. While the runners-up will receive a $915.6k reward this year. In contrast, Shane Lowry received $872k as the runner-up last year.
Last year, the top-73 participants claimed a share of the purse pool. But the player count has been reduced to top-65 this year. As a result, individual earnings in the lower pools have significantly increased. For example, the 63rd, 64th, and 65th positioned players are set to receive $18,396, $18,228, and $18,060 respectively from this year’s Honda Classic. While the bottom 3 players of last year earned $16k each.
