One of the most popular PGA Tour Champions events featuring some top senior professionals initiated this Friday in California. Here you will find the latest information on prize money and purse breakdown of the ongoing Hoag Classic 2023.
Hoag Classic 2023 Purse:
The Hoag Classic featured by Hoag Health System is a popular PGA Tour Champions event held in Newport Beach Country Club every year. It is a standard senior’s golf event with 3-round based stroke play rules.
The ongoing edition of the event is featuring 78 professional golfers and a $2 million prize pool. As the purse pool amount is similar to last year, very little difference in purse distribution is expected in the 2023 event.
There will be additional perks for players to earn in the California-based senior’s golf event. As the money earned from this one will be counted towards the Charles Schwab Cup point list. However, players won’t be receiving any OWGR points from it.
The winner’s share at Hoag Classic 2023 is set at $300,000. It is a standard 15% share of the complete purse pool. It is the same amount as the previous event champion, Retief Goosen received in 2022.
The runner-up of the event will be rewarded a $176,000 reward. While the 3rd placeholder will receive $144,000. Moreover, all 78 participants of the event are set to receive a share of the purse pool based on their leaderboard position.
According to an official statement, even the 76th, 77th, and 78th golfers are set to earn $1,160, $1,080, and $1,000 respectively. Which is again the same amount as the 2022 event’s position holders received.
