The maiden FedEx cup playoff event of the 2022 season started with the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee. Here, you will find the complete breakdown of the purse, payout, and prize money of the FedEx St. Jude Championship 2022.
The FedEx St. Jude Championship 2022 is currently underway, having started on the 11tth of August. The event draws near its conclusion as it is scheduled to finish on the 14th of August.
Previously part of the regular PGA Tour, the St. Jude Championship was later turned into a FedEx cup event in 2007. Following its establishment under the name of Westchester Classic in 1967, the tournament has rebranded itself multiple times due to sponsorship changes. The previous titles for the tournament include The Northern Trust, The Barclays, and the Buick Classic.
As FedEx Cup comprises the top 125 players from the FedEx Cup standings, the field is extremely strong, brimming with all the top players. Other than Daniel Berger, Lanto Griffin, and Tommy Fleetwood, who have decided to withdraw, all the qualified golfers will tee it up at the course of TPC Southwind.
FedEx cup events appeal to all the top players as it determines the ultimate champion following a hectic year-long season. Some of the big names looking for the crown in Memphis are Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Smith, Tony Finau, etc.
However, in the first two days of play, this is looking like a tournament for the underdogs as the top players like McIlroy and Scheffler have missed the cut, whereas J. J. Spaun and Sepp Straka are at the top of the leaderboard.
