The East Lake Cup is a popular annual collegiate golf competition. Many popular top-performing teams from the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships participate in the event. Since its debut in 2015, the golf event is held annually at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
The NCAA Golf Championships rules serve as the basis for the East Lake Cup. In order to determine an individual male and female champion, the East Lake Cup starts with a round of stroke play on the first day. After that, the match play competition’s seeding for the following two days is decided using the leaderboard list.
This year’s East Lake Cup will be the 8th edition of the event. The sponsors for this year are Zip Recruiters, Bridgestone Golf, and World-Wide Technology. With 4 from Men’s and Women’s divisions each, a total of 8 teams will be participating in the upcoming collegiate golf event.
The University of Oklahoma’s Men’s and Women’s teams were both group champions in 2021. Preston Summerhayes of Arizona State University and Chris Gotterup of the University of Oklahoma shared the Men’s championship in the individual finals. Rina Tatematsu of Oklahoma State University won the Women’s Individual title.
