Charles Schwab Challenge 2023 Purse:
Texas is filled with some top-class fan-favorite golfers this week. As the 64th edition Charles Schwab Challenge is currently getting underway at the Colonial Country Club golf field. 120 professional golfers are present in this week’s field, with 23 of the top 50 OWGR-ranked players being among them.
Organizers of the Charles Schwab Challenge 2023 have announced a $8.7 million purse pool for the competition. It is a decent upgrade over the previous year’s $8.4 million prize pool. With the subtle increment in the purse pool, participants are expecting a similar increment in individual purse distribution this year.
Winner of the event will take the PGA Tour’s standard 18% cut of the prize pool. Therefore, the winner’s share for the 2023 event is $1.566 million. In contrast, the defending champion Sam Burns received $1.512 for becoming the champion of 2022 event. It marks a 3.5% increment over the previous year’s share.
The runner-up at the ongoing Colonial National Invitation is set to receive $948,300. Meanwhile, the 3rd placed participant will earn $600,300. On average, there is a 3% increment on this year’s offered prize in comparison to previous years’ one. As the 2nd and 3rd position holders received $915,600, and $579,600 respectively in 2022.
Only the top-65 participants to make a successful cut during the initial two rounds will get an invitation to partake in the following two. Furthermore, they will be the only eligible participants to earn a share of the purse pool. Therefore, the final three position holders – 63rd, 64th, and 65th participants’ reward will be $19,053, $18,879, and $18,705 respectively.
