Since its establishment in 1906, it has been known by various names depending on the sponsorship. The current name was adopted in 2022.
Many of the world’s most prominent golfers are absent in this year’s edition of the Cazoo Open de France. Only three golfers in the top 50 arrived in Paris to compete in this tournament with over 100 years of history.
The 156-player field is headed by Patrick Reed, Thomas Pieters, Thriston Lawrence, Ryan Fox, and more. At the beginning of the final round, the tournament standings are led by world no. 54 Rasmus Højgaard.
Cazoo Open de France 2022 Purse and Payout:
The purse for Cazoo Open de France 2022 was announced to be €3,000,000. The winner of the tournament will receive €500,000. Along with this massive sum, the champion will also be awarded 18.5 OWGR points and 710 race to Dubai points.
The winner’s share of the prize pool is the usual 16.67% per the European Tour’s prize money distribution chart. Whereas 1st and 2nd runner-ups will get a handsome amount of €333,333 and €187,800
Compared to last year, the prize fund increased by $1.4 million, while the winner is set to get $240,000 more. This huge increase is thanks to the new sponsor, Cazoo. In 2021, the total purse was €1,600,000 with the winner getting €266,660.
Not all participants are eligible for the prize money. Of the 156 golfers, only the top 65 who proceed to the weekend following the 36-holes will be rewarded with a share of the €3 million purse.
