BMW Ladies Championship 2022 is an upcoming professional women’s golf tournament event. The popular LPGA Tour event is scheduled to begin on upcoming Thursday, October 20, 2022.
The BMW Ladies Championship was first established in 2015. Since its initial establishment, the annual event was sanctioned under the LPGA of Korea Tour alone. Later in 2019, LPGA Tour started co-hosting the event. The event was canceled the following year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, this will be the first year that the event will be open to the public.
In 2021, the ladies’ golf tournament was held with a no-visitor policy due to the pandemic. South Korean professional, Ko Jin-young became the champion of that event. During the final round, she put eight under par to win the playoff against Hee Jeong Lim.
After two years in Busan, the South Korean ladies’ golf event will be held in Gangwon, South Korea. Like the previous two years, the prize pool will be $2 million. It will be played over 72 holes in a stroke play format with no cut. The event will feature a total of 78 female golfers.
