The Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship is a popular amateur golf event organized by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation. It was first established in 2009 as the Asian Amateur Championship. Later in 2012, the title was changed to the current one due to the demographic extension of the tournament.
After getting canceled in 2020 due to covid pandemic, the event made its return in 2021. Keita Nakajima of Japan won the amateur event that year, defeating Chinese golfer Taichi Kho. The event is organized under the authorization of the Masters Tournament and the R&A. As such, the winner receives an invitation to the Masters and the Open Championship.
The upcoming event is set to be held in Bangkok, Thailand. With a field of 120 players, the event will be held over 72 par. The current defending champion, Keita Nijimura will also be participating in the event.
