Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship 2023 is the year’s DP World Tour opening event. It is currently begin held at the YS Club in the United Arab Emirates. From the opening round’s 132-player field, only 68 managed to make a cut for the final two rounds.
This year’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship has featured a whopping $9 million purse pool. This marks an impressive $1 million increment from the last two years’ $8 million purse.
The champion of this year’s Abu Dhabi-based DP World Tour event will earn 17% of the purse pool. Which amounts to exactly $1.53 million. Compared to last year’s $1.333 million reward earned by Thomas Pieters, this is a healthy rise.
The runner-up of the ongoing event is slated to earn $990,000. While the 3rd-place winner will win $563,400 as a reward. Both of which show decent increments over $888,000 and $500,000 purse for respective positions of last year.
According to the officials, the top 70 players to make a cut in the event will earn a share of the purse pool. Based on that, the reward amount for 68th, 69th, and 70th position holders are listed at $18,900, $18,000, and $17,100. While in 2022, only the top-65 players were rewarded from the purse pool.
