Four-time world champion Germany will play two friendly matches against Peru and Belgium during the international break. Young star Jamal Musiala has been left out of the announced squad for the two matches. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has been ruled out of the squad due to a hamstring injury.
Germany’s national team or his club Bayern Munich did not say anything about when Musiala was injured or how long it will take to recover, but German coach Hansie Flick confirmed that the midfielder will not play.
Musiala was playing great this season. The 20-year-old has scored 15 goals and 12 assists for Bayern Munich in all competitions. He is the top scorer in the Bundesliga this season with 11 goals. His game reminds many of a young Lionel Messi.
Armel Bela-Kochap was dropped from the German squad ahead of Musiala. This defender has been sidelined with a shoulder injury. AC Milan defender Malik Chao has joined the team as a replacement for Bela-Kochap. However, no one has been announced as Musiala’s replacement yet.
Germany had to withdraw from the group stage after losing to Japan in Qatar World Cup. After this, the four-time world champions are going to enter the field for the first time. Hansi Flick’s team will play against Peru on March 25. They will face Belgium after three days.
