The official announcement of Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr FC officially brings an end to all the speculations around the footballer.
The former Manchester United striker’s run as a free agent finally comes to an end. This Friday afternoon, both sides have agreed with each other’s terms in pen and paper. Following this, the Saudi Club wasted no time to announce their acquisition of one of the best players at present.
Cristiano Ronaldo will be joining Al-Nassr as soon as the medical assessments are done. This newly done contract with the Saudi Club will reportedly bring him $75 million per year. This marks an end to the 37-year-old player’s career in Europe’s top level, the Champions League. However, he will also be joining Al-Nassr as a brand ambassador following the end of his professional career in 2024.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United mutually came to an agreement to terminate his contract with the club just before World Cup. As the January transfer window came forward, various rumors and speculations surrounding the Portuguese striker as a free agent started to appear. Within which, he had been linked with several high-profile English football clubs like Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
While the rumor of him shifting to Saudi with the Al-Nassr contract arose at the end of World Cup, it was soon scraped. As Ronaldo himself expressed his wish to play in the European side for a longer period. However, his new transfer confirmation puts an end to all fan speculations. Everyone will be looking forward to the football star’s journey in a new environment.
