While G2 Esports were denied Valorant partnership previously, the organization is now showing clear interest in Riot Games’ latest FPS game’s competitive scene.
The European esports organization recently unveiled two new additions to their Valorant roster with an exciting video. The video saw two former Sentinels Valorant squad member – Shahzeb Khan aka “ShahZam” and Michael Gulino aka “dapr” officially join the esports organization.
In addition, G2 esports included the teaser of their full Valorant rooster at the end of the video. This included –
- Maxim “wippie” Shepelev
- Francis “OXY” Hoang
- Michael “Dapr” Gulino
- Erik “penny” Penny
- Shahzeb “ShahZam” Khan
- Ian “Immi” Harding
According to reports, the former British CS:GO professional Immi will be acting as the new coach of G2’s North American Valorant team. While the rest of 5 professionals will be competing as the main squad.
The managing director of G2 Esports recently said, “We’re coming to North America with the ambition to take the opportunity that Riot Games offers us to earn our spot in the International League through the Ascension Tournament.” He added, “In the last six years, we have seen how supportive G2 fans are for our successes and also for our memes in North America.”
With some of the major Valorant professionals the team seems competent enough to establish G2’s Valorant division in the North American division. Following the success in competitive Fortnite and Rocket League in the demographic, fans are quite excited to see how the new chapter of G2 Esports’ Valorant team in 2023 unfolds.
