Tour of the Basque Country is an annual road cycling event. Established in 1924, the event runs annually in the Spanish Basque Country in April under the UCI World Tour calendar. Upcoming 2023 edition will be the 62nd official iteration of the long running professional road cycling event. The event will be alternatively titled as “Itzulia Basque Country 2023.”
Like every year, the event will be held in Basque Country for six days starting from April 3rd. It will be a six-stage event. 18 UCI WorldTeams and 5 UCI ProTeams will compete over 992.5 km of distance in these six days. By many, the event is considered one of the most challenging races of the professional cycling calendar.
First day of Tour of the Basque Country 2023 will start at Vitoria-Gasteiz and will continue to Labastida. Most of the stages are in medium and steep mountain ranges. Jonas Vingegaard, the defending champion of the event will return to compete for the winner’s title once again.
