Tour Down Under is UCI World Tour’s year opening professional cycling event. It is titled “Santos Tour Down Under” for sponsorship deal with the popular Australian oil & gas production company, Santos Inc.
After two years of cancelation due to pandemic, Santos Tour Down Under 2023 will finally be a return of the highly anticipated event. It will be the 21st official iteration of the event and part of the 2023 UCI World Tour.
The Tour Down Under this year, will feature 6 different stages. It will begin on Tuesday and run for 6 days in total. The road cycling event will be held in Australia like previous years.
A total of 20 teams will participate this year. Among them, 18 teams have been invited from UCI WorldTeam, and the rest of two teams are from UCI ProTeams and the host country’s national team. Each team will have up to 7 professional riders.
