Giro di Sicilia is a popular Italian multi-stage professional bicycle racing event for men’s discipline. First established in 1907, this long-running event is held as a part of the regular UCI Europe Tour calendar.
The upcoming Giro di Sicilia 2023 will be the 27th official iteration of the UCI competition. Like every year, it will be held in Sicily as a UCI 2.1 class event for Europe Tour. There will be a total of 25 teams from 4 different groups this year.
Five of the current season’s 18 UCI WorldTeams will be present at the event. While from UCI ProTeams and Continental teams, eight and eleven teams have registered respectively. Furthermore, the Italian national cycling team will also compete alongside the other 24 UCI teams.
Each team will consist of a full squad of standard seven riders. A total of 166 riders are expected to compete in this Sicily-based competition this week. They will cross over 718 km distance over the course of four stages.

The 27th Giro di Sicilia is scheduled to initiate its four-stage competition on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, and will run till the following Friday, April 14, 2023. First-day competition will start at 11:35 a.m. ET in Marsala.

As the name suggests, Giro di Sicilia 2023 will take place in Sicily. The Mediterranean Sea-based island is one of the 20 regions of Italy, locally known as Sicilia. The upcoming UCI Europe Tour race there will start at Marsala and conclude at Giarre. Participants will have to race through 718 km of hilly and mountain roads in the Italian race stages.
