It was first held in 2015 as a one-day road race. This year, the 8th edition of the event will feature five stages, from Marina de Cudeyo to Madrid. The contest will begin on September 7 and end on September 11.
Defending Champion: Annemiek van Vleuten
Annemiek van Vleuten won the race last year. He dominated the individual time trial and the mountain stage. The Dutch professional road racing cyclist currently rides for Movistar Team, a UCI Women’s WorldTeam. She won the UCI Women’s Road World Cup in 2011, and the UCI Women’s World Tour in 2018 and 2021. She has been awarded Dutch women’s cyclist of the year three times.
