The tournament will be returning after a break of 2 years. It was paused because of the Covid 19 outbreak. Dries Devenyns is the defending champion of the Men’s category, while Liane Lippert will be defending her title in the women’s category.
Dries Devenyns will be playing for his team Soudal-Quickstep. This will be an important race for the Australian racer Matthews, as he will look for a tournament win in his home. Australian national champion Luke Plapp will be racing for INEOS Grenadiers. Alberto Bettiol will also be there to give everyone a hard contest.
In the women’s category, we will be seeing many Women’s World Team racers. Amanda Spratt is in very good form, her biggest opponent can be Georgia Williams, who will be trying her best to prove herself in the new team. The race will take place on two different days, starting on January 27 with the women’s race and Men’s race on January 28.

The racers will have to cross 176 km to finish the race. The Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race 2023 will start from Steampacket Gardens of Geelong. The racers will have to start their first climb from the Barwon River. They will be passing the roads of Moriac after that.
The racers will return to Geelong, from where they will need to compete for the last 68 km of the race. This 68 km will be completed within a circuit with 4 laps. Racers will need to make Challambra Crescent climb while passing the loops, and after that, there will be a rise up Melville Avenue.
