Okolie vs Light is an upcoming professional boxing event. It is scheduled for this Saturday in Lancashire. The event will feature 11 bouts, 5 of which are under the main card. Additionally, there will be one WBO and one English title fight.
For the main event fight, Lawrence Okolie and David Light will face each other in the professional ring for the first time. There Okolie will defend his WBO World Cruiserweight title against Light. In another bout, Levi Giles and Michael Gomez Jr. will fight one another for the English Super Featherweight title.
Lawrence Okolie is a British professional boxer in the cruiserweight division. The present WBO World Cruiserweight champion has an undefeated record of 18 consecutive wins. After winning the title from Nikodem Jezewski, Okolie faced 3 title defenses and won successfully. Most recently, he defeated Michal Cieslak via unanimous decision in last year’s February.
David Light is a professional boxer from New Zealand. He is currently competing in the heavyweight division and has an undefeated professional record of 20 consecutive wins. Last year in December, Light defeated Brandon Glanton via a split decision to win the then-vacant WBO International and Global cruiserweight titles.
